Terms of service

Last updated: 4 October 2026 · Effective: 4 October 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

Welcome to Swift Tasks. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Swift Tasks mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Platform”), operated by Swift Tasks (“Swift Tasks”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

In these Terms, a “Customer” is someone looking for help with a job, a “Professional” (or “Pro”) is someone offering a service, and a “Booking” is a request for a job sent from a Customer to a Professional through the Platform.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. Bookings create commitments between you and other users, often involve a Professional coming to your home or you going to theirs, and buying points requires a mobile money account in your own name. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or over.

We may suspend or close any account we believe belongs to someone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us and we will close it and delete the information held on it.

Registration

You can sign in with your mobile phone number (confirmed with a one-time code sent by SMS), with an email address and password (confirmed with a code sent to that address), or with Google or Apple. Every account needs a mobile phone number; if you sign up without one, you will be asked to add it.

A number you type in without confirming it by SMS is held on your account as unverified. If someone else later proves that number by SMS, it moves to their account, so please enter only a number that is yours.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your phone, verification codes, password, and account secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used it.

Inclusivity commitment

When you sign up you agree to treat everyone on the Platform with respect, kindness, and fairness, irrespective of race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, skin colour, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age. Breaking that commitment is a breach of these Terms.

3. Our role in the marketplace

Swift Tasks is a venue that helps Customers find and contact Professionals. We are not a party to any agreement between a Customer and a Professional, we do not employ Professionals, and we do not carry out, supervise, or guarantee any job.

Any contract for a job is formed directly between the Customer and the Professional. Swift Tasks is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, timing, or price of work, for materials, or for whether a job is completed.

Professionals are independent. They decide which jobs to quote for, set their own prices and working hours, and use their own tools and judgement.

4. Professionals

Verification and approval

Before a Professional appears to Customers, they must submit a government-issued ID (front and back), a photo of themselves holding it, a profile photo, and at least one photo of past work, and we must approve the profile. Professionals may also upload trade licences or certificates; only those we have checked and that have not expired earn the “Certified” badge.

Approval means a profile passed our checks at the time, not that we vouch for the Professional’s skill, conduct, insurance, or work. We may decline, suspend, or remove a Professional at our discretion.

Your profile

If you offer services as a Professional, you agree that:

  • Your business name, bio, services, photos, prices, hours, and service area are accurate and up to date.
  • Photos of past work are your own work, and you have the right to share them.
  • You hold any licence, registration, or qualification the law requires for the work you offer.
  • You will honour quotes you send and turn up for jobs you accept, or cancel in good time.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with Zambian law.

Once you are approved, changes to your business name, bio, profile photo, and new sample-work photos are checked by us before Customers see them; until then Customers see your previous version. Changes to prices, hours, service area, and services, and removing photos, apply straight away.

5. Requests, quotes & bookings

A Customer sends a request to a Professional describing the job — the service, the issue, how urgent it is, a preferred date and time, and where it is. The Professional may answer with a quote. The Customer may accept the quote or turn it down.

Once a quote is accepted, the Professional starts and completes the job and marks it so in the app. Either side may cancel a Booking before the job has started. A quote is an estimate agreed between you; if the work turns out to be different from what was described, agree any change with each other before it is done.

Both sides are expected to honour accepted Bookings. Repeatedly cancelling or failing to turn up may lead to restrictions on your account.

6. Prices & payment between users

Prices are set by Professionals and shown in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW). The Customer pays the Professional directly, by whatever method the two of you agree.

Swift Tasks does not take, hold, or pass on payment for any job, adds nothing to the price, and charges Customers nothing. We are not responsible for any payment made, owed, or missed between users.

7. Points for Professionals

Finding and booking Professionals is free for Customers. Professionals pay Swift Tasks in points, the Platform’s internal credit. The current costs, allowances, and your balance are always shown in the app.

Monthly plan

  • A Professional’s plan keeps them listed in search and includes a number of quotes each month. It starts when the profile is approved, with a free introductory period and, where offered, a one-off welcome bonus of points.
  • After that, the plan renews each month from your points balance. If your balance cannot cover a renewal, you stay listed for a grace period; if it still cannot be renewed after that, you are taken out of search until it is. Your profile, Bookings, and conversations are not affected.

Quotes

  • Sending the first quote on a request uses one of your plan’s included quotes, or points once those are used up. Revising a quote you have already sent is free.
  • If the Customer does not answer a quote within the period shown in the app, the charge is refunded.

Buying points

You can buy points with the mobile-money wallets offered in the app, currently Airtel Money and MTN Mobile Money. The provider prompts you on your handset to approve the payment; Swift Tasks never sees or stores your wallet PIN. Points are credited only once the provider confirms the payment. If a payment fails or is not approved, no points are credited and no money is taken.

How points work

  • Points have no cash value, are not legal tender, and cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another account, or withdrawn.
  • Points spent on a plan or a quote are not refundable, except where these Terms say otherwise (an unanswered quote).
  • We may change what a plan or a quote costs, what a plan includes, or how long its periods last. Changes apply from the time we make them and never to points you have already spent.
  • Bonus points may be offered from time to time, subject to any conditions stated with them.
  • Unused points stay available while your account is open. If your account is closed or terminated, any remaining balance is forfeited.

8. Messages & meeting in person

Each Customer and Professional pair has one conversation in the app, where messages, photos, and updates about their Bookings appear. Keep conversations about the job, and do not use them to send anything unlawful, abusive, or unsolicited.

Jobs usually mean meeting in person, often at someone’s home. Take sensible precautions: check a Professional’s profile and reviews, agree the scope and price before work starts, do not pay large sums up front, and never share a verification code or mobile-money PIN with anyone.

9. Reviews

After a Booking is completed, the Customer may rate the Professional from one to five stars and leave a written review, once per Booking. Reviews appear on the Professional’s profile and contribute to their rating.

Reviews must describe a genuine job and your honest experience of it. You may not review yourself, offer or accept anything in return for a review, or use reviews to threaten or pressure someone. We may remove reviews that breach these Terms.

10. Problems & disputes

If something goes wrong with a job, try to resolve it with the other person first. Any refund, redo, or compensation for work is a matter between the Customer and the Professional.

You can report a problem to us from a Booking in the app, or through Help & support. We may, at our discretion, review the activity, contact the people involved, or restrict accounts — but we are not obliged to mediate disputes between users, and we do not refund or compensate for a job we were not party to.

11. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Offer, request, or arrange any work that is illegal or that you are not qualified or licensed to do.
  • Post false or misleading profiles, photos, prices, quotes, or reviews, or impersonate anyone.
  • Harass, threaten, defraud, or discriminate against other users.
  • Use contact details or addresses obtained through the Platform for anything other than the job they were shared for — including marketing or repeated unwanted contact.
  • Interfere with the Platform, try to gain unauthorised access to it, or scrape it by automated means.
  • Open more than one Professional account, create accounts to collect welcome points, or otherwise manipulate the points system.

12. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, messages, and other content you upload. By posting content you grant Swift Tasks a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and reproduce it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

Profile and sample-work photos are shown publicly and may be reachable by anyone holding the image link. Do not upload images of documents, identification, or anything else you would not want seen publicly, except where the app asks for them for verification.

You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the rights of others.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it, including the identity documents Professionals submit, the location used to find Professionals near you, and what is shared between a Customer and a Professional on a Booking. By using the Platform you consent to that handling of your information.

14. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Platform and ask us to delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, put other users at risk, or where the law requires it.

Closing an account does not undo Bookings already agreed or obligations already owed to other users. Any unused points balance is forfeited.

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind about the Platform, its availability, or any Professional, Customer, or job.

Distances, ratings, badges, and search results are indicative only and are not a guarantee of location, quality, or reliability.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Zambian law, Swift Tasks is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, or data, or for damage to property or personal injury, arising from your use of the Platform or from any dealing with another user.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Swift Tasks against claims, losses, and costs arising from your content, your jobs and dealings with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, where the change is significant, give notice in the app. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and the courts of Zambia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Platform.

20. Contact us

You can reach us through Help & support in the app, or send questions about these Terms to support@swift-tasks.com.
